Be a Librarian... Or Just Look Like One! Firmoo Eyeglasses Are Librarian Tested and Approved

When I was single, I had this conversation almost every time I met someone new:
Him: What do you do?
Me: I'm a librarian.
Him: Oh really. Where are your glasses?
Me: Four people at this party have already asked me that, Captain Original.

It's funny how strongly people associate my profession with poor eyesight. I'm one of those ultra-rare unicorns odd librarians who doesn't need glasses, but I wish I did. About ten years ago I briefly wore cheap fashion glasses because I like the look, but they were always flimsy pieces of ?!*# that sat crookedly, inched down my nose, got scratched after a few wearings, and ultimately were abandoned at the bottom of some out-of-season purse. But lately I've had an itch to wear glasses again. So when Firmoo contacted me and asked if I'd like a free pair of glasses to review, I jumped at the chance.

SPOILER ALERT: I LOVE THESE GLASSES FROM FIRMOO!
Firmoo offers a huge variety of styles. Whether you like subtle, classic frames or Crayola-colored hipster glasses, they have you covered. All their styles can be made with prescription or non-prescription lenses. And it's easy to find what you want, because their website offers a surprising number of  search options--another thing a librarian loves! You can search and sort by color, size, style, shape, material, price, and date added. And when you find a style you like, you can load a picture of yourself to see how the frames will look on you. How fun is that?

As I shopped, I kept thinking What would Jackie Kennedy wear? I was craving something classic, but I couldn't decide between tortoiseshell or black frames. When I found these black frames with tortoiseshell arms, I was sold.

My glasses arrived in six days. I was so excited to open the package and find all of these extras! I got a case, bag, repair kit on a keychain, two extra screws, and a chamois cleaning cloth. I wore the glasses to work the next day, and I was surprised by how comfortable they are. I actually forgot I was wearing them! A coworker said, "You look good in glasses!" After a long, drawn-out pause, I remembered the big honkin' frames on my face. Doh! But let's be honest: That's a good thing. They don't slide down  my nose, pinch, or feel weird on my ears.  I like the quality, too. They feel heavy and substantial.

I love this low-contrast, natural looking faux tortoiseshell.
In the last two days, I've noticed that people treat me differently when I wear glasses. My coworkers smile at me more, and library patrons seem to find me more approachable. I like that. And get this--wearing glasses can be good for your career! Don't I look more professional? /kidding

You can haz, too.
I can't vouch for the quality of Firmoo's prescription lenses. But based on my positive experience with Firmoo, I definitely recommend them to anyone who wants new fashion glasses or sunglasses. If you want to try Firmoo, you can get your first pair free (plus shipping). Use this link to choose your free glasses, and please let me know what you think of them.

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I was given a complimentary pair of eyeglasses in exchange for an unbiased, honest review. All views and opinions expressed are purely my own. I honestly like these glasses, y'all!

  1. The frames remind me of my Gunnars from the front view! Sadly no subtle tortoise shell for me, though :(

    2. I'm still deciding. It seems the free options are limited but they change them up periodically so I'm gonna keep checking back. I'm currently waiting on a pair from glassesusa to do my review for them. That will be my 4th pair of mail order glasses (from 4 different distributors). Firmly will be my 5th. Also if they need more reviewers- give em my contact info. I could blather on about glasses for eons. They are a subject I enjoy

    1. You're right, I'm already wanting another pair too! I think there's something addictive about them. I'm telling myself they're slimming cuz they draw the eye toward the face and away from my chubbier bits. :D

  4. I'm one those unlucky souls who has to wear prescription glasses (but hey, if it gets me a job, I'll accept that fate). I like the black frames and tortoiseshell ear pieces. Nice combo.

    1. Thanks! Yep, according to numerous psychological studies, you look more professional and intelligent than those of us without glasses. :)
